Data Matters – sustainable archiving solutions and services
Data Matters designs and delivers sustainable archiving solutions and services with an integrated management for paper-based archives and digital preservation, including a digital repository with all the functions defined in the OAIS model. Data Matters solutions and services are based on years of expertise, in-depth multi-disciplinary knowledge, and industry-leading products and services from select innovative and reliable technology manufacturers.
Data Matters has long-standing partnerships with Hitachi Vantara, Star Storage, scope solutions, DEVENTit and others. In 2017, Data Matters decided to add a new offering to the company’s portfolio based on the technology of its partners – Stongroom for content cloud archiving and preservation. As the volume of digital data grows , organisations need a next generation archiving solution that is cost-effective, compliant and sustainable. By adopting a cloud-based approach, organisations don’t have to build and maintain their own storage and archiving infrastructure. They can also scale their usage up and down as needed.
Data Matters applies standard APIs to integrate with industry-leading AIS, document and case management, and records management solutions. Hitachi Vantara’s Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) is the core component of all Data Matters solutions. The HCP portfolio is a software-defined, cloud-ready platform based on object storage architecture. With near-infinite capacity and broad flexibility, HCP harnesses unstructured data growth and bridges traditional and emerging technologies to make data securely available anywhere, anytime.
In the second half of 2019 Data Matters will launch a new service – Data Protection as a Service (DPaaS) powered by Hitachi Vantara. DpaaS delivers a comprehensive framework for backup and recovery, long-term retention and disaster recovery. This new offer was designed with ease of adoption for customers looking to move to cloud to gain agility, flexibility and cost savings while safeguarding their critical data and applications.
